Standard EI for a high-tech tank: KNO3 8g + KH2PO4 1.5g + K2SO4 5g + CSM+B 2g per 100L per week. Low-tech (no CO2) uses half these amounts. Dose macros and micros on alternating days and reset with a 50% water change on day seven.

§ 02 · Method
Weekly dose (g) = Base rate (g per 100L) × Tank volume (L) ÷ 100
High-tech: KNO3 8g · KH2PO4 1.5g · K2SO4 5g · CSM+B 2g per 100L/week
Low-tech: KNO3 4g · KH2PO4 0.75g · K2SO4 2.5g · CSM+B 1g per 100L/week
The Estimative Index, developed by Tom Barr, doses nutrients in excess of plant demand rather than trying to match it precisely. By keeping all nutrients above deficiency thresholds at all times and resetting with a 50% water change each Sunday, EI removes the need to test for individual deficiencies. High-tech rates assume active CO2-driven plant growth. Low-tech rates (½ EI) match the slower nutrient uptake of tanks without CO2 injection.
